Los VGA/VGX han desaparecido debido al tremendo fracaso de la pasada edición, por fortuna el conductor Geoff Keighley y las compañías más importantes de la industria retomarán esta entrega de premios, ahora llamados The Game Awards 2014, que no sólo otorgará galardones a los mejores videojuegos del año, también se tienen contemplados varios anuncios importantes que de momento se guardan como sorpresas.
